It’s amazing how the little things in life can cheer your day. A smile or hug from a friend, a note to let you know you’re appreciated, a letter in the mail, or a rainbow in the sky. Today I was noticing the little things.
The moment when I was feeling overwhelmed with work and tired from the day, I received a letter in the mail from my grandma. After working on a project with a friend, we took a break for dinner. It was pouring rain, and there was the most beautiful rainbow, the tallest one I have ever seen, up in the sky above our heads. And tonight I had thought I was going to spend the night alone relaxing (which was fine with me), but I ended up having a wonderful time hanging out with one of my roommates whom I hadn’t talked to pretty much all week (even though we’re roommates, we hardly see each other). So we sipped our steamy chai tea, ate popcorn, and watched a movie together (after talking for about an hour).
Anyway, the point of this blog is that I’m thankful for the little things in life. The tiny things that are powerful enough to make your day.
