The Bible is such an awesome book. Every time you read it, something new pops out at you. I was reading tonight in Acts 27 where there is a huge storm on Paul’s ship. It got so bad that the men started throwing things off the ship.
Hard times are often compared to storms in our lives, and in one of my earlier posts I talked about how my Pastor Jeff said that the difficult times in our lives draw us closer to God. During these difficult times, we need to “throw out” all the earthly things that distract us and tear our focus away from God.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
~Hebrews 12:12
