Abraham Day 4: A Great Reward

  • Materials:
  • Bible
  • Children’s Bible with illustrations
  • Clock that ticks
  • Small box “gift” wrapped up with picture of baby Jesus inside
  • Day 4: Lesson & Activities
  • Open Bible to Genesis 15:1. Ask if child wants to touch God’s Word. Touch gently. Then, read verse. “The word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, ‘Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.’” (ESV)

Activity:

  • Prep: Wrap a small box. Tape a picture of baby Jesus inside.
  • Show gift box. We have to wait to open it.
  • Hold up clock and click tongue with the ticking. Count with the clock.
  • Poem: (speak with ticking clock) Wait, wait, wait, wait – Blessing’s coming! Wait, wait (repeat)

Psalm 67:6, God, our God, blesses us. The greatest reward of all was when God sent Jesus to earth as a baby. Jesus is our Savior. Jesus is the greatest reward.

  • Hand child gift box with baby Jesus picture inside. Open it up to see Jesus, the great reward!
  • Sing (Tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb) Jesus is our great reward, great reward, great reward. Jesus is our great reward. Thank You, God, for Jesus!
